MBTI PERSONALITY WORKSHOPS
In the best-selling book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, Patrick Lencioni says that 70 percent of executives are familiar with the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. He also recommends it as the finest tool for Building Trust and building team work among leaders and managers.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) illuminates the basic differences in the way individuals prefer to a) get energized, b) take in information, c) make decisions, and d) approach life. Participants take the assessment online in advance and during the workshop, they receive their personality report which includes tailor-made next steps for personal and team development.
To collaborate effectively, especially under pressure, people need to understand each other and appreciate personal differences. Converting these differences from a source of conflict to a source of strength dramatically increases the productivity and effectiveness of the team.
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator benefits teams by:
- Increasing self-awareness. (Self-awareness alone is a compelling predictor of success at work and accounts for one-third of job performance.)
- Illuminating each team members’ preferences, passions, pet peeves and highest motivators.
- Fostering collaboration to enhance relationships, productivity, and efficiency in a work environment by considering all points of view.
- Identifying personal blind spots and clear next steps for growth.
- Giving a lens for speed-reading people– they’ll learn to quickly identify the unique needs and communication styles of each person on their team and each customer they serve.
In the workshop, participants will experience “personality in action” through interactive experiences and discussions, learn their individual type preferences, and begin to craft strategies for leveraging areas of strength and growing in areas of weakness. This brief workshop really draws out the best in each person and the best in the entire team.
“Sam facilitated a staff retreat for us and his MBTI session was the highlight of the week. Sam took the time to get to know us individually and helped us understand the meaning of our results within the professional and personal context. Sam is passionate about his work and his passion is contagious. By the end of the session, even the most skeptical of our team members were inspired by the results of Sam’s analysis and were ready for more. Months after the retreat, we continue to discuss what an impact the session had on us as individuals and in strengthening our team. We look forward to working with Sam in the future and highly recommend him to any manager/team leader who is looking at gaining valuable insight from their team, strengthening the teams commitment to the organization, and building a cohesive unit.” Alex España, Advising Dean, Columbia University
